Meet Valeria
Valeria is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work spans illustration, photography, design, and education. Born in Paris to an Italian mother, she carries the influence of her Tuscan roots—a blend of rigorous craftsmanship, strong ethics, and an inherited love for creating beautiful things—through her journey from Brooklyn to her current home in Southern Arizona.
After training at the School of Art & Design (ENSAAMA) in Paris, Valeria launched her career as an art director for fashion magazines, working alongside industry luminaries and developing her keen eye for style that balances European sophistication with unexpected cultural crossovers.
New York brought a pivotal shift when she found her place within a community of jazz musicians, partnering with a gifted Mexican saxophonist whose heritage opened her world to Latin culture and ultimately led her to fall in love with the Sonoran Desert’s dramatic landscape.
Today, Valeria creates under The Music Room, her studio practice focused on original illustrations and reimagined decorative plateware that transforms vintage pieces into contemporary art objects. Working with black ink, clay, oil, and gouache, she produces pieces that mirror her own cultural complexity.
Her artistic language reflects this rich background: think Parisian chic meets desert boldness, delicate ink lines paired with confident shapes, classical training filtered through contemporary expression. The result is work that feels both refined and spirited—much like red lipstick worn with a cowboy hat, an aesthetic contradiction that somehow makes perfect sense.
