Valeria is a visual artist, illustrator, photographer, designer, and educator whose work bridges cultures and disciplines.
“Working with Valeria was an exceptional experience. She demonstrated a rare combination of strategic thinking and artistic excellence that transformed my initial website into compelling visual narratives. Her combination of insight and artistic expertise brought to life a professional and elegant website that I am very proud of. Highly recommended for any business seeking thoughtful, results-driven creative solutions.”
—Pianist-composer Sylvie Courvoisier, Brooklyn-based native of Switzerland and winner of the 2025 American Academy of Arts and Letters Music Award.
Her artistic identity is defined by cross-cultural fluency: raised in Paris within an Italian family, she called Brooklyn home for over two decades before settling in Southern Arizona. Her creative motto captures this journey perfectly: French accent, Italian blood, Brooklyn spirit, desert lover.
Areas of expertise
VISUAL ART Valeria creates visual narratives that explore our interconnected relationships—human, animal, and botanical. Working primarily with black ink drawings, gouache, and oil paints on paper, her pieces investigate the threads that bind us to each other and our environment
ILLUSTRATION Her illustration process begins with hand-drawn black ink lines, inspired by color combinations and graphic elements discovered in her surroundings. These foundation drawings evolve into digital compositions using flat color palettes that echo screen printing traditions..
SCULPTURE Her three-dimensional work explores themes of duality through intertwined abstract forms. Clay pieces are entirely hand-built, while her soft sculptures incorporate fabric salvaged from her own wardrobe, creating intimate connections between personal history and artistic expression.
BRANDING Specializing in visual identities for non-profits and small businesses, Valeria offers comprehensive creative solutions—from packaging and signage to web design and social media—often integrating her original artwork to create cohesive brand experiences.
EDUCATION As former design adjunct lecturer at New York City College of Technology CUNY, Valeria developed curricula that blend creative practice with academic rigor, fostering critical thinking and imagination within contemporary technological frameworks.
